Album Introduction

Schubert Edition-Vol. 5

Performance: Elizabeth Cornell (Sop), Graham Johnson (pf)
Cornell's clear voice in her 5th album, which contains songs by Schubert who sings about nature, sounds very fascinating. Overall, the album is filled with the fresh energy of green nature, but the most beautifully embodied work is'Mother Earth'. In Cornell's reverent song filled with gratitude for nature with the soft piano accompaniment, the warm embrace of nature as the title is felt. Another highlight is the 18-minute solo cantata-style grand song'Cereth's Sighs' with lyrics to Schiller's poem. The harmony between Cornell and Johnson, who calmly remarks the heart of Ceres, who has reached the fire of hell in search of his daughter, is very impressive.
